About The Project
The Prayer Flag Project is a memorial for those who have passed on. When you join the project, you will provide me with a hand-written message to your loved one on the other side. I will then transfer it by hand in gold or silver ink onto an individual prayer flag. On August 30th (National Grief Awareness Day) of each year, all of the flags for the year will be displayed in a spiritually significant location or arrangement and a Spirit Ceremony will be held to honor our loved ones and help us to keep a deep spiritual connection to them alive. It’s about continuing to talk to them, believing that they can still hear us and do still hear us, and that our relationship to them never dies.

2014 Project – The Grand Canyon!
I’m planning a MUCH larger version of this project – with thousands of flags – to be installed at the Grand Canyon next fall! This is still in the very early planning stages, and it’s not certain I will be able to secure permission at the canyon, but I’m dreaming BIG! My goal is to have a flag installation at a different location around the world each year and have an Opening Spirit Ceremony on opening day where we will honor all who have flags.

What is a Prayer Flag?
Tibetan Buddhists for centuries have planted these flags outside their homes and in places of spiritual significance for the winds to carry their beneficent vibrations across the countryside. They believe that the flags carry happiness, prosperity, and peace to the planter and all those who visit. I cannot think of a better place for your messages to reside than on such flags. I feel connected to each of you and to each of your loved ones on the other side while I am retracing such heartfelt words… my hope is that somehow, as I work on them, that this energy makes its way out to you – whether you ever know where it came from or not!

Spread the Word!
